DESCRIPTION:Early morning coffee anyone!  How about a quiet stroll through the garden with a cup of tea or coffee BEFORE a Sunday church service? \nBeginning Sunday\, April 26 and running for four weeks until May 17\, Peter Baker will be piloting a “CHURCH CAFÉ” from 9:30-9:55 AM\, with coffee and tea available. You might like to make plans to meet a friend for conversation at the café or meet with other church members to discuss a project you are working on together.  What better time and place to meet than 9:30AM at the Church Café! \nIf this idea takes off\, the café could become a permanent feature in the Sunday morning landscape. If you enjoy it\, be sure to let a Deacon or LSBCC Council member know. \n

DESCRIPTION:The Annual Soupline Supper to support the Homeless Service Center will be held Thursday\, April 16th from 5:30 – 7:30PM at the Coconut Grove in Santa Cruz. This event features signature soups\, gourmet bread\, and desserts from over 40 local restaurants. Public officials\, top executives\, and other community leaders serve as “Celebrity Ladlers.” Live music and brief program for the 500 attendees recognizes donors\, sponsors\, volunteers—and includes an update from HSC’s new Executive Director Jannan Thomas.\nHSC’s Board of Directors invites you to consider how\, a good bowl of soup has the power to change lives.
